Van-Pack Skid Jetter or Large Portable Cart? Choosing the Right Brute for YOU
When it comes to professional sewer & drain cleaning, your jetter setup can make a big difference in how efficiently you can get the job done. At Jetters Northwest, we designed Brute Series jetters to give contractors flexibility and versatility: you can order your Brute as a Mountable "Skid" for your van or truck, or as a Portable "Cart" that you can operate from the van or roll out to wherever the job needs your jetter. Let’s unpack your options…
Every Brute jetter is convertible; Skid or Cart ready
What many operators don’t realize is that both the “Skid” and “Cart” Brute versions are built on the same heavy-duty, modular frame, making them inherently the same machine:- Each Brute frame has built-in mounting-tabs for bolting to a vehicle, while also being pre-drilled to accept wheels, axles, handles, and a brake system.
- If you buy a “Cart” model but later want to mount it as a “Skid”, you can simply remove the wheels and bolt the jetter down through its mounting-tabs.
A 3rd option: “Hybrid” Use to Operate in-Vehicle or Roll It Out
To have it both ways, many contractors choose the portable “Cart” version but operate it as a Van-Pack, keeping it strapped down in their van or truck. This way, they can simply open the door and operate the jetter from the front panel without unloading, just like running a bolted-down “Skid” model, but they can also unstrap their Brute, quick-release it from any water-tank, remove the jetter from the van and roll it closer to the pipe-access. In other words, you can have your cake and eat it too; the panel-mounted controls let you run the jetter directly from your vehicle as a typical van-skid, and you still have the option to roll it out when needed. All portable Brute jetters can also be quick-coupled to a larger Water-Tank anywhere on the jobsite, if more water-capacity is needed. When a jobsite doesn’t allow close van-access, like at some schools, malls, or multi-unit or industrial complexes, 4-wheel portability enables you to roll the Brute away from the van and bring it right to pipe-access. Pair this with Jetters Northwest’s wireless remote control system and you’ve got full jetting control whether you’re working inside or outside; even if you’re a few hundred feet away from the Brute…Wireless Remote-Control for Jetting Efficiency & Safety
Whether you’re running the Cart, Skid, or Hybrid, all Brutes are fully compatible with Jetters Northwest’s Deluxe Wireless Remote Control system which enables operators to:- Start the engine and adjust the throttle/pressure via remote-control
- Control Jetting (nozzle-flow) On and Off remotely on-demand
- Kill the engine remotely when done - or emergency-stop if needed
- (optional) Operate the hose-reel windup remotely
Easy Mobility for Tight Jobsites
Even though the Brute weighs 400+ pounds dry (and over 500 pounds when the buffer tank is full), the Cart or Hybrid versions roll smoothly thanks to the balanced design of all Brutes. That mobility makes it a solid choice for contractors who often need to reposition their unit around busy jobsites and tight spaces. For example, many operators share how easy it is to wheel a Brute down an alley or into a larger complex where vehicle access or parking is limited, saving time and frustration.Brute Jetter Specs and Versatility
Jetters Northwest has been building jetters for over 20 years, and that field experience shows in the design details. Every unit is engineered not just for raw power, but for real-world usability, portability, and serviceability. Brute Jetters are available in two core GPM/PSI options:- 4009 Models – 9 GPM / 4000 PSI – the most popular, versatile choice to primarily jet 3"–4" lines, as well as occasional 6” & larger pipes.
- 3012 Models – 12 GPM / 3000 PSI – ideal if you typically clean a lot of 4”-6” lines, and the occasional 8” & larger pipes.
- Mini-Hoses & Nozzles for jetting smaller 1”-3” lines are available for all Brute jetters.
- Operators also can choose an optional Propane-Fueled Engine for specific applications that require cleaner exhaust emissions, such as warehouse or other indoor use when allowed (note: propane fuel reduces max pressure by -500psi, and lowers GPM -5%).
Key Features & Brute Versatility (at a Glance)
- Water Supply-Tank Options: a built-in 12-gallon water “buffer” tank with float valve accepts direct garden-hose water feed, and doubles as an antifreeze reservoir for easy winterization. Also, all Brutes are ported for simple connection to a larger water-supply tank when mounted, or via quick-connects when a larger portable tank is needed during Cart or portable-Hybrid operation.
- Simple Controls: All key functions ( jetting on/off valve, engine switch & throttle, pressure-regulator, gauge, and pulsation) are Panel-Mounted right below the hose reel — easy to reach and safer to operate.
- Adjustable Pressure and Flow: the throttle and hand-adjustable PSI-regulator makes the Brute simple to dial in the right pressure and flow for each job, and works well with remote operation via wireless-control, foot-valve control, or hand-trigger control.
- Rugged Hose Reel with 12v Motor: Sturdy A-frame Reel with steel pillow-block bearings, powered as standard by a 12v windup-motor (with variable-speed option), and 300-400 feet of premium U.S.-made jetting hose.
- Engine Options: Standard Kohler fuel-injected 747cc OHV engine, or choose their optional 25-HP propane-fueled version. Both have a 3-year warranty and drive a high-pressure UDOR “Super-Duty” Triplex Plunger Pump.
- Modular Frame: Welded steel roll-cage with powder-coated finish; built as a modular system so you can remove the portability kit and mount it as a Skid, or vice-versa.
- Included Accessories: 4-nozzle set (Penetrator, Rotator, Pusher, Flusher), plus safety Nozzle-Extension, accessory-adapter, and orifice-cleaner tool.
- Root-Cutting & Grease-Clearing Nozzles available: popular Warthog, Reaper, RootRanger, Bulldog, Chisel, Grenade and other optional specialty nozzles are available with any Brute Jetter system.
- Mini-Hoses & Nozzles available: enable powerful jetting of smaller 1”-3” lines with mini-hoses (with or without a portable reel), with mini-nozzles available for clearing grease & sludge, pushing debris, passing thru P-traps, cornering into branch-lines, and more.
