Revolutionizing Jetting Operations: How Wireless Remote Controls Improve Efficiency and Safety

In today’s competitive plumbing and drain cleaning industry, two things matter more than ever: efficiency and safety. At Jetters Northwest, we’ve made it our mission to address both through innovation and hands-on industry experience. That mission comes to life in one of our most impactful hydro-jetting advancements: the Wireless Remote Control System.

From the bustling floor of the WWETT Trade Show in Indianapolis, I caught up with Aaron, one of our team members who brings years of in-field experience as a plumber and drain cleaner. Together we broke down exactly how Wireless Remote technology is helping professionals work smarter, safer, and faster…

Check out our video library for the full walkthrough.

Total Control from Start to Finish

The wireless remote control allows an operator to manage the entire jetting process without ever returning to the machine. Whether you're running a BRUTE Powerslide or an Eagle Trailer Jetter, here’s what a typical job looks like now:

  • Bring the jetting hose/nozzle to the sewer/drain entry point and insert at least 5 feet
  • Start the engine remotely
  • Engage jetting with the Pressure button (Jetting Flow ON)
  • Throttle up flow and pressure as needed with the push of a button
  • Stop jetting at any time with a simple tap of the Pressure button (Jetting Flow OFF) or the On/Off button to emergency-stop
  • Control the hose reel (wind or unwind) on demand

This hands-free functionality is more than just convenient, it’s a game changer in terms of solo operation and time savings.

Safety Comes Built-In

Aaron explained one of the standout safety features: if the flow is engaged, the engine won’t restart, a critical safeguard if someone is holding the hose or working nearby. This prevents accidental high-pressure water discharge and gives operators peace of mind in unpredictable environments.

Additionally, the system features:

  • An instant kill switch for emergency stops
  • Redundant flow shutoff controls
  • A design that prevents restart unless the system is safely disengaged

It’s smart safety, built by people who’ve been on the front lines of the industry.

Unmatched Wireless Range

For jetting jobs that take you well away from your vehicle, whether indoors or outdoors, our wireless remote control was tested successfully at distances up to seven city blocks, far the length of any jetter’s hose could ever reach and certainly beyond what most job sites require. This ensures rock-solid performance even in the most demanding scenarios.

Time Is Money

In the field, seconds matter. Walking back and forth to start or stop a jetter can quickly eat up time, especially in large commercial or municipal settings. With the wireless remote, you cut that dead time to zero:

  • Start only when you're ready
  • Shut down the moment you're done
  • Reduce unnecessary fuel consumption and engine hours
  • Improve jetter pumping-system longevity and job efficiency

As Aaron noted, “Now I’m not putting all the time on my machine just to get set up. I use it when I need it, and that’s it.”

One Operator, One Machine, Total Efficiency

With this system, one technician can manage an entire job from setup to teardown, no extra hands needed. For small businesses, this means reduced labor costs. For larger operations, it means more jobs completed per day with fewer delays.

The Right Tool Changes Everything

Whether you're a seasoned pro or a newcomer to jetting, the right tools make all the difference. Our wireless remote system isn’t just about convenience, it’s about giving plumbers and drain cleaners the control, confidence, and capability to do their best work safely and efficiently. Pair it with the right jetter nozzles and jetter hose, and you've got a setup that works as hard as you do.

At Jetters Northwest, we're not just building equipment, we’re solving problems that professionals face every day.
