Root Cutting “One-Two Punch” Jetting with Reaper & Warthog Nozzles
You’re on a job, ankle-deep in muck, staring at your camera’s view of another pipe clogged by roots. But these roots are nasty and dense, at several entry-points, creating a network of obstructions. This is no quick in-and-our job – it’s going to be a tough one. You’ve seen this many times before; you’ve got a powerful jetter but is there a jetting process that can speed this up yet still be effective? Now, imagine a method that not only cuts through the toughest roots but also ensures the entire pipe is cleaned, reducing the chances of future clogs. Imagine no more… We’ve put the industry’s leading nozzles to the test and recommend a powerful root clearing method to tackle these grueling tasks – The One-Two Punch. Using this proven 2-nozzle method, you can increase your jetting efficiency by restoring flow quickly as well as actually scouring the pipe clean, all while reducing time on the job and leaving with confidence in the solution you’ve provided.
Introducing the One-Two Punch
The One-Two Punch is a strategic approach combining the unique strengths of two specialized nozzles: the Reaper and the Warthog in either the 3/8” size or the 1/2" size (Pro Tip: results will be poor with 1/4" size). This method leverages the complementary capabilities of these 2 outstanding nozzles to provide a comprehensive root cutting and pipe cleaning solution for jetters that do at least 7-GPM / 3000 PSI (of course, results will be quicker with more GPM & PSI):

| Step-1: Attack with a REAPER Nozzle First, send the Reaper nozzle in to chew through the blockages. Designed with the most aggressive nose-jet in the market, the Reaper bores through dense root masses with precision and power. Its intense forward-cutting action also cuts through grease, wipes, etc. to swiftly restore flow. But, while the Reaper excels at tackling the bulk of the roots, it can sometimes miss the upper sections of the pipe where remnants may cling, and it’s not the best choice to “scour” the entirety of the pipe clean… | Step-2: Scour with a WARTHOG Nozzle This is where the Warthog nozzle comes into play. Designed with aggressive wide-angled rear jets, send the Warthog in to scour the sides of the pipe, attacking anything the Reaper has left behind. The slow-rotating action of its powerful jets clean the pipe walls, aggressively removing any remaining debris and buildup. The Warthog’s thorough cleaning action complements the Reaper’s cutting power, making sure the entire pipe is clear, clean, and back to full flow-capacity. |
The Benefits
By combining the strengths of both the Reaper and Warthog nozzles, this One-Two Punch method provides a comprehensive solution to root intrusions. This approach not only clears the toughest root blockages but also enhances the overall cleanliness of the pipes, enabling you to show the customer a camera-view of a truly clean pipeline. Further, this One-Two Punch method is great for prepping the pipe for a re-line job. In summary, the efficiency and effectiveness of this method can mean less time on the job and a higher jetting-success rate to maintain clear, functional sewer and drain pipes.
